Proclamation congratulating the Pittsburgh International Auto Show upon its 75th Diamond Anniversary.

     WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh International Auto Show is an annual event held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Downton, Pittsburgh. This event, famous for showcasing new, classic and exotic vehicles from around the world will be held February 15-18, 2019; and

 

     WHEREAS, this year, the Pittsburgh International Auto Show is celebrating its 75th Diamond Anniversary and will kick off this grandiose occasion with the “Dancing with the Cars” event. “Dancing with the Cars” is a preview party of the 2019 Pittsburgh International Auto Show. It gives individuals a chance to see the latest models before the show opens to the public and unveiling of donations made to various charities; and

 

     WHEREAS, over the span of four days, the event is anticipated to bring in more than 60,000 people. All of whom are flocking to the Convention Center to see the latest in exotic cars from McLaren, Ferrari and Lamborghini. Guests will be informed on the latest in safety features and learn about new off-road features available in heavy-duty pickup trucks. Over 40 manufacturer exhibits from Acura to Volvo, with more than 550 cars, as well as dozens of vendors from AAA East Central to WVU Eco Car will be on site; and

 

     WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh International Auto Show will not only have a copious number of cars, but there will be celebrity appearances, contests and interactive exhibits. This event is a great family-friendly environment that is sure to interest everyone. The auto show is the second largest public show at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center and has become a family tradition for many;

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Allegheny County Council Member Bob Macey and All Members of Council, do hereby congratulate the Pittsburgh International Auto Show upon its 75th Diamond Anniversary, and we thank them for helping establish Allegheny County as a destination County and building tradition with in families.
