Proclamation declaring Thursday, May 2, 2019 to be “Champions of Learning Day” in Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, since 2015, the Consortium and United Way of Southwestern Pennsylvania have teamed together to host the Champions of Learning Awards Ceremony, which recognizes distinguished individuals and organizations who are committed to going the extra mile to support kids in the community; and
WHEREAS, in recognition of their praiseworthy work and their significant contributions towards the common good, the 2019 Champions of Learning will be recognized during the Champions of Learning Awards Ceremony event on May 2, 2019 at the University of Pittsburgh Alumni Hall. The 2019 Champions of Learning are nominations in each of five categories, Leadership, Educators, School Staff, Volunteers and Providers/Community Partners; and
WHEREAS, the 2019 Champions of Learning finalists are as follows:

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Allegheny County Council Member Tom Baker do hereby declare Thursday, May 2, 2019 to be “Champions of Learning Day” in Allegheny County, and I recognize and thank the 2019 Champions of Learning finalists for their dedicated service to improving Allegheny County.
