Proclamation congratulating Scott Conservancy upon the occasion of its 30^th Anniversary.

     WHEREAS, an all-volunteer land trust, Scott Conservancy will celebrate its 30^th anniversary on Saturday, September 14, 2019; and

     WHEREAS, Scott Conservancy, owned and managed by Scott Township and Mt. Lebanon, is dedicated to promoting and maintaining the natural beauty of the 77-acre Kane Woods Nature Area; and

     WHEREAS, largely sustained by a volunteer community, Kane Woods Nature Area is a mostly wooded, publicly accessible conservation. The reserve is a great place for people to go hiking, biking, bird-watching, running, and enjoying many other outdoor activities; and

     WHEREAS, over the past 30 years, Scott Conservancy has promoted education, appreciation and conservation of the community, and encouraged environmental stewardship of natural resources as they affect Kane Woods Nature Area and the surrounding communities; and

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we, Allegheny County Council Members Pat Catena and Sue Means, do hereby honor and congratulate Scott Conservancy upon the occasion of its 30^th Anniversary, and I thank them for their continued dedication to trail building and maintenance, and educating all about the many aspects of the local environment.
