Certificate of Recognition presented to Millvale Borough for their essential role in developing the Triboro Ecodistrict.

body

This certificate is presented to Millvale Borough in recognition of being a key member of the Triboro Ecodistrict. After being devastated by massive floods in 2004 and 2007, the community rallied together to transform itself using sustainability as the core value of economic redevelopment. In 2012, the borough adopted the EcoDistricts Planning Process and four years later both the Boroughs of Etna and Sharpsburg joined forces. Together the three communities formed the Triboro Ecodistrict. With over 10,000 residents combined, these Allegheny River Towns are dedicated to building a strong collaborative history to promote sustainable community development through the shared lenses of: Equity, Food, Water, Energy, Air Quality, and Mobility. Allegheny County Council recognizes Millvale Borough as an essential element to the Triboro Ecodistrict and we commend them for developing programs and projects to create a healthier future for its community.
