Proclamation declaring Saturday, December 14, 2019 to be Jingle Bell Run Arthritis Foundation Day in Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, in the United States, there are more than 50 million Americans with Arthritis - 2,984,000 of them live in Pennsylvania; and
WHEREAS, the Arthritis Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for America's #1 cause of disability. The foundation is devoted to championing the fight against arthritis through life-changing resources, science, advocacy and community connections; and
WHEREAS, leading the fight for the arthritis community, the Arthritis Foundation helps raise funds and awareness through their annual Jingle Bell Run on Pittsburgh’s North Side; and
WHEREAS, on Saturday, December 14, 2019, the Arthritis Foundation will hold its annual Jingle Bell Run. This holiday race is one of the nation's most themed events for a great cause. Participants dress in holiday themed costumes and tie bells to their shoelaces;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Allegheny County Council Member Tom Baker, do hereby declare Saturday, December 14, 2019 to be Jingle Bell Run Arthritis Foundation Day in Allegheny County, and I commend the Arthritis Foundation their continued dedication to finding a cure for arthritis.
