Proclamation honoring the life, memory and legacy of Glenn David Winterhalter.

WHEREAS, Maya Angelou once said, “life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away”; and
WHEREAS, Allegheny County Council does hereby honor the life of the late Glenn David Winterhalter, a beloved husband, father, friend and dedicated advocate for the Borough of Dormont, who passed away on January 15, 2020 at the age of 65; and
WHEREAS, Glenn was born in Dormont, Pa on December 30, 1954. Glenn and his four brothers grew up in the Dormont area where he attended Keystone Oaks High School. Later he moved to Brookline, where Glenn and his wife, Deborah raised their son, Glenn; and
WHEREAS, despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis early in life, Glenn worked for over 30 years for Allegheny County in various departments such as maintenance, payroll and IT; and
WHEREAS, Glenn took extreme pride in his hometown community of Dormont and loved taking part in the number of community organizations and events that the borough had to offer; and
WHEREAS, Glenn lived an exemplary life purposefully filled with many acts of kindness and charity, and he loved to bring a smile to people through his endless jokes;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we, Allegheny County Council Members Bethany Hallam and Bob Palmosina, do hereby honor the life, memory and legacy of Glenn David Winterhalter, and we extend condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
