Proclamation recognizing the Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade Grand Marshal.

WHEREAS, the Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee announced that the Irish Society for Education & Charity, Inc., has named Tim Finnerty, Esq. as 2020 Parade Grand Marshal; and
WHEREAS, born and raised in the West Hills area in the City of Pittsburgh, Mr. Finnerty has a long history of involvement in the Pittsburgh Irish community and beyond; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Finnerty obtained his J.D. in 1976 from Duquesne University School of Law. He went on to serve as the former Labor Contract Administrator and manager of Labor Relations for Allegheny County and currently is an Assistant County Solicitor, overseeing the Department of Court Records and holding probate hearings; and
WHEREAS, since the late 1970’s, Mr. Finnerty has been a 4th Degree member of the AOH. He served as the past Solicitor of AOH, as well as a member of Brehon Law Society, and played with the Pittsburgh Rugby Football Club from 1966 to 1985. In the 1990’s when the new parade committee was formed, Mr. Finnerty was among the original committee members. He is on the Board of Directors for the Irish Society for Education and Charity, Inc.;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Allegheny County Council President Pat Catena, along with All Members of Council, do hereby congratulate Tim Finnerty, Esq. upon being named the 2020 Parade Grand Marshal for Pittsburgh St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
