Title: Motion of the Council of Allegheny County expressing the Sense of Council of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, thanking the residents of Allegheny County for staying at home and following physical distancing recommendations during this time, expressing our care and concern for those who have COVID-19 and our condolences to the families and friends of those who have died, and voicing our deep gratitude to those who are on the front lines providing care to those who are ill and all individuals working in essential businesses to provide the goods and services our community relies upon.

Motion of the Council of Allegheny County expressing the Sense of Council of Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, thanking the residents of Allegheny County for staying at home and following physical distancing recommendations during this time, expressing our care and concern for those who have COVID-19 and our condolences to the families and friends of those who have died, and voicing our deep gratitude to those who are on the front lines providing care to those who are ill and all individuals working in essential businesses to provide the goods and services our community relies upon.

WHEREAS, on March 15, 2020, Allegheny County instituted a voluntary stay-at-home order for residents to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community; shortly after, the Pennsylvania Governor ordered residents in the county to stay-at-home as a mitigation measure; and
WHEREAS, the decision to issue the stay-at-home order was not one made lightly, but we believe it is having an effect; Allegheny County residents responded quickly and have been following the recommendations set forth by the Health Department; and
WHEREAS, we ask for patience moving forward as the guidance to stay at home continues; it is only by working together - and staying apart - that we can all get back to normal as soon as possible; and
WHEREAS, each day, the number of people who have confirmed COVID-19 grows, and the Health Department expects to see that number continue to increase with additional testing being available; Health Department Director Dr. Debra Bogen has said that there are likely many more undetected cases of the virus in our community, making it even more important for our community to practice physical distancing; and
WHEREAS, we express our care and concern for those who have COVID-19 and all those who experiencing illness and symptoms during this time, and for their caregivers, and urge them to be certain that they care for themselves as well at this time; we also send our condolence...
