This certificate is presented to Officer David Machesney and Officer Michael Cavaliere of the McCandless Police Department upon the occasion for taking courageous actions that set a standard of excellence for all Police Officers in Allegheny County. On March 26, 2020, Officers Machesney and Cavaliere went above and beyond their call of duty by administering life-saving aid to an individual that had suffered a heart attack. Arriving at the scene before EMS, the officers first delivered a shock to the individual via an automated external defibrillator (AED) and then switched to CPR. The swift and effective actions of Officers Machesney and Cavaliere undoubtedly saved that individuals life, and for this, we are grateful. This Council commends and honors Officer David Machesney and Officer Michael Cavaliere of the McCandless Police Department for their courage, professionalism and handling of the situation on March 26, 2020.
