Proclamation congratulating LeMont for 60 years of dedication to providing delicious meals to the residents of Allegheny County.

WHEREAS, in 1960, restaurateur James Blandi Sr. opened LeMont for $1.2 million on the site of Grandview Theatre. The restaurant originally featured two rooms and 130 seats; and
WHEREAS, after growing in popularity, Mr. Blandi made three additions to the restaurant, including a two-story banquet and dining room in 1970; and
WHEREAS, after 39 years of Blandi ownership, regular LeMont customers, Anna & Ed Dunlap of Upper St. Clair purchased the restaurant on June 1, 1999; and
WHEREAS, since purchasing LeMont, the Dunlap’s made several restorations to the restaurant to help enhance the customers experience at one of Pittsburgh’s fine-dining restaurants; and
WHEREAS, since its opening, the restaurant has served more than six million meals and hosted more than seven thousand wedding receptions and more than fifty-five thousand private parties; and
WHEREAS, on June 6, 2020, LeMont celebrated sixty years of maintaining a tradition of excellence for customers and employees;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Allegheny County Council Member Robert Palmosina, do hereby congratulate LeMont for 60 years of dedication to providing delicious meals to the residents of Allegheny County.
