Proclamation recognizing Ashley Marina for her singing/songwriting skills and advancing into the next stage of “America’s Got Talent”.

WHEREAS, “music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” That quote by Plato depicts the true essence of Ashley Marina and the gift of song she gives to the world; and
WHEREAS, 12-year old singer/songwriter from Kennedy Township, Ashley auditioned for “America’s Got Talent” and will be advancing to the next round of the reality competition; and
WHEREAS, Ashley wrote 10 original songs, including “Move a Mountain,” which rose to No. 1 on The Fab Chart at fabchart.net, and “You’ll Always Be My Hero,” a song and video of the month choice on the MÓB Radio podcast; and
WHEREAS, over the years, Ashley has received numerous awards such as, 2020 MÓB Radio Artist of the Year worldwide, TalentWatch Dream Night Champion, National Talent America Tri Star Award Winner, two-time Williams SING-OFF Finalist, and being featured in magazines such as EXTRA ORDINARY KIDS and Stars2come; and
WHEREAS, Ashley has performed on countless stages such as, Opry Mills Nashville, New Year’s Eve Highmark First Night Pittsburgh, Harlem Globetrotters World Tour halftime show, opening ceremony for the world’s 1st BRICK makerspace by LEGO, CMA Fest Nashville Spotlight Showcase, WPXI Holiday Parade live on WPXI-TV Pittsburgh and is a regular National Anthem singer for professional sporting events including Major League Baseball, USL Professional Soccer, West Virginia Derby, and Championship Boxing; and
WHEREAS, beyond being a successful singer and songwriter, Ashley has many other talents, including playing the piano, ukulele and guitar, dancing, acting and modeling;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Allegheny County Council President Patrick Catena, do hereby recognize Ashley Marina for her superior singing/songwriting skills, and I wish her all the best as she advances into the next stage of “America’s Got Talent”.
