Proclamation congratulating Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania upon their 2020 campaign, ReMEMBER, ReIMAGINE, ReINVEST!.

WHEREAS, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania is a non-profit organization that is part of a national network of Boys & Girls Clubs united in this mission: "To inspire and enable all young people, especially those from disadvantaged circumstances, to reach their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens of their community, America, and the world."; and
WHEREAS, in 1888, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania began their service to the young people of our community; and
WHEREAS, currently, they serve over 7,600 young people between the ages of 5-18 years old. The long-standing history of successful service to youth in the community sets the organization apart from others; and
WHEREAS, in 2020, Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania launched a new campaign: ReMEMBER, ReIMAGINE, ReINVEST!; and
WHEREAS, through their new campaign, Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania will do the following: ReMEMBER to continue to meet the needs of children, teens, young adults and their families in the neighborhoods that need it most; ReIMAGINE their innovative programs, the future of the youth they serve, and the growth of our region; and encourage alumni, volunteers, and community members in Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania to ReINVEST in the organization so that they can provide a great future for the next generation; and
WHEREAS, Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania will remain a critical resource for families in communities across Western Pennsylvania, and they will continue to stay at the forefront of STEM education, workforce development, and healthy lifestyle education to ensure great futures;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Allegheny County Council President Patrick J. Catena, on behalf of the citizens of Allegheny County, hereby commend Boys and Girls Clubs of Western Pennsylvania for their dedication to providing access for all children and teens so that they can achieve success in life. This Council acknowledges their 2020 campaign, ReMEMBER, ReIMAGINE, ReINVEST! and we thank them for their continued dedication and service to all children and their families across Western Pennsylvania.
