Proclamation recognizing the Mifflin Social Club upon their 80th anniversary.

WHEREAS, Tony Clark once said, “Getting to know new people and gaining new friends is one of life’s greatest pleasures. So, conquer your fears and get out there.” That quote truly resonates with the atmosphere at the Mifflin Social Club; and
WHEREAS, founded in 1941 by a group of ball players and steel mill workers, the Mifflin Social Club became a place for people to unwind, socialize and develop a sense of community; and
WHEREAS, with nearly 500 members, the Mifflin Social Club is still a place for softball leagues to gather and celebrate in their victories or losses together; and
WHEREAS, thanks to the dedication and commitment of President Dan Isaacs, Vice President Tom “Zabo” Zaborowski, Secretaries Diana Varner and Coleen Dellasalla, Treasurer Roberta Chonko, and Trustees David “Zook” Zak, Jay Fetherolf, Bob Fetherolf, Ron Heidkamp, and Tony Dellasalla, the Mifflin Social Club continues to meet the needs of the community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Allegheny County Council Vice President, Bob Macey do hereby congratulate and recognize the Mifflin Social Club upon their 80th anniversary, and I thank them for their continued dedication to the community.
