Proclamation congratulating the Kiwanis Club of McKeesport and White Oak upon their 100th anniversary.

WHEREAS, Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time; and
WHEREAS, service is at the heart of every Kiwanis club, no matter where in the world it’s located. Members stage approximately 150,000 service projects and raise nearly US$100 million every year for communities, families and projects. By working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone; and
WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of McKeesport and White Oak was founded on June 15, 1921 and continues to benefit the community in numerous ways; and
WHEREAS, the Kiwanis Club of McKeesport and White Oak erected a community garden in 2012 that continues to provide fresh produce for the area; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Allegheny County Council Member Bob Macey, do hereby recognizing and congratulate the Kiwanis Club of McKeesport and White Oak upon their 100th anniversary, and we celebrate their continued dedication to the region through their service projects.
