Proclamation recognizing and congratulating Mr. Edward McGregor upon the occasion of receiving the Frank J. Lucchino Distinguished Service Award.

WHEREAS, every year, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and County Manager William D. McKain, CPA present The Frank J. Lucchino Distinguished Service Award to an employee or employee group who has exceeded all expectations, made a significant impact upon the county and has represented the county admirably in his or her actions; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Edward McGregor, Fiscal Manager of the Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner was selected as the 2021 recipient of The Frank J. Lucchino Distinguished Service Award; and
WHEREAS, since February 1983, Mr. McGregor has worked for Allegheny County. He originally joined the staff of Controller Frank J. Lucchino’s office. He remained in that role until 2009 when he accepted an opportunity with the Allegheny County Office of the Medical Examiner (ACOME); and
WHEREAS, Mr. McGregor has worked for ACOME for more than ten years and during that time he has helped the Medical Examiner's Office prepare fiscal plans and forecasting. He has helped to cultivate relationships with various other departments throughout the county and recommended new, innovative ideas; and
WHEREAS, Mr. McGregor played a key role in ACOME applying for and managing millions of dollars of grants. He has also sat as a member of the internal Executive Management Team at ACOME in hopes of helping change policy for the entire department. Also, Mr. McGregor has been a member of ACOME’s interview panel because of his ability to bring his non-scientific background to the table;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that we, Allegheny County Council, do hereby recognize and congratulate Mr. Edward McGregor upon the occasion of receiving the Frank J. Lucchino Distinguished Service Award. We commend him for all that he does for the county each and every day.
