Proclamation congratulating the Lions Club of McKeesport upon their 100th anniversary.

WHEREAS, Lions is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving individual communities, and the world; and
WHEREAS, Lions Club International, founded in 1917 is dedicated to improving health and well-being, strengthen communities, and support those in need through humanitarian services and grants that impact lives globally, and encourage peace and international understanding; and
WHEREAS, the Lions Club of McKeesport was founded on February 27, 1922 and continues to benefit the community in numerous ways; and
WHEREAS, every year, the Lions Club of McKeesport helps organize and coordinate volunteers for the Summer Concert Series and the International Village food festival, both held in Renziehausen Park; and
WHEREAS, the Lions Club of McKeesport holds numerous activities throughout the community, such as blood, food and clothing drives, placing flags at Veterans gravesites for Memorial Day, and selling Lions Brooms & Trash Bags, just to name a few;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Allegheny County Council Member Bob Macey, do hereby recognizing and congratulate the Lions Club of McKeesport upon their 100th anniversary, and we celebrate their continued dedication to the region through their service projects.
