Proclamation recognizing Anthony Taliani, Jr. for his years committed to local government.

     WHEREAS, “knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers. It may not be difficult to store up in the mind a vast quantity of facts within a comparatively short time, but the ability to form judgments requires the severe discipline of hard work and the tempering heat of experience and maturity.” That quote by Calvin Coolidge depicts the true essences of Anthony Taliani, Jr.’s character and his years devoted to local government; and 

 

     WHEREAS, retired math teacher & Head Football Coach at Deer Lakes High School, Mr. Taliani, Jr. has been actively involved in his community and surrounding communities for 50 years; and

 

     WHEREAS, in January 1972, Mr. Taliani, Jr. was officially sworn into office as a Commissioner of East Deer Township; and

 

     WHEREAS, for 50 years, Mr. Taliani, Jr. has constantly displayed unwavering commitment towards the township, and with continuous determination he has been able to make an impact on the quality of life for the 1,446 residents; and

 

     WHEREAS, over the years, Mr. Taliani, Jr. has held a number of prestigious political positions such as, President, Board of Commissioners of East Deer Township, President, Allegheny Valley North Council of Governments, President, Allegheny County & Western Pennsylvania Association of Township Commissioners, President, Pennsylvania Start Association of Township Commissioners, and Board of Directors, Allegheny League of Municipalities, just to name a few;

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Allegheny County Council Member Nicholas Futules, do hereby recognize Anthony Taliani, Jr. for his years committed to local government. I thank him for his unwavering dedication towards East Deer Township and surrounding communities.

 

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto caused the Seal of the County of Allegheny to be affixed this 13th day of January 2022.
