An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing the acceptance of three (3) parcels of land located contiguous to the County’s North Park.

Whereas, the Township of Hampton is the owner of three parcels identified in the County Block and Lot system as 948-K-83, 948-K-180, and 948-P-293 totaling approximately one-quarter (1/4) acre of land located in the Township of Hampton along Pine Creek and near Hemlock Drive, and contiguous to the County’s North Park (hereinafter collectively the “Property”); and
Whereas, the Township of Hampton wishes to donate the Property to Allegheny County to allow for an expansion of North Park; and
Whereas, the County’s Department of Parks has reviewed the Township of Hampton’s offer to donate the Property and has recommended that the offer be accepted; and
Whereas, County Council recognizes that the acceptance of the Property and incorporating it into the County’s North Park will inure to the benefit of the citizens of Allegheny County; and
Whereas, Article IV, Section 2(j) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests County Council with the power to accept a donation of real property on behalf of the County.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble.
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.
SECTION 2. Authorization to Accept the Donation of Real Property.
Allegheny County Council hereby approves the acceptance of a donation of three parcels of land identified in the County Block and Lot system as Parcels 948-K-83, 948-K-180, and 948-P-293 totaling approximately one-quarter (1/4) acre from the Township of Hampton and its incorporation as a perpetual part of North Park.
The proper officers of the County are hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to effectuate the authorization granted by this legislation....
