An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing Mon Valley Express Drum & Bugle Corps to continue to use a structure in the County’s South Park for marching band and music-related activities.

Whereas, Mon Valley Express Drum & Bugle Corps currently has exclusive use of a structure on Brownsville Road in the County’s South Park known as Fairgrounds Building # 7; and
Whereas, for many years Mon Valley Express Drum & Bugle Corps has utilized the structure for purposes of repairing musical instruments, conducting group and individual music rehearsals, and operating other band-related activities; and
Whereas, the Mon Valley Express Drum & Bugle Corps wishes to continue to use the structure for the same purpose without interruption; and
Whereas, the County believes that permitting Mon Valley Express Drum & Bugle Corps to continue to utilize the designated structure in the County’s South Park for music-related activities will inure to the benefit of the citizens of Allegheny County; and
Whereas, Article IV, Section 2(k) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests County Council with the power and duty by ordinance to lease or permit the use of County real property.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
SECTION 1. Incorporation of the Preamble
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.
SECTION 2. Authorization to Permit the Use of County Real Property
Allegheny County Council hereby approves the continued exclusive use of a structure on Brownsville Road in the County’s South Park known as Fairgrounds Building #7 by Mon Valley Express Drum & Bugle Corps music-related activities.
The proper officers of the County are hereby authorized to execute any and all documents necessary to effectuate the authorization granted by this legislation.
