Dear Controller Flaherty,

 

At the Regular Meeting of Council held on May 18, 2004, Council approved by an 11-3 margin (Council Members Cleary, Fawcett and Jabbour voting no) the attached Motion sponsored by Council Member Robinson expressing the Sense of Allegheny County Council requesting the County Controller to undertake an assessment of the operations of the Independent County Offices and make recommendations as to economies and efficiencies that can be achieved if operations of various offices were merged and automated.  The assessment should also estimate staffing levels and budgets necessary for a more efficient operation.
