At the Regular Meeting of Allegheny County Council held on October 19, 2004, Council approved the attached Motion (Bill No. 1637-04) encouraging you to consider and approve legislation of statewide applicability that would amend the Pennsylvania Election Code to provide for campaign contribution limits, insuring greater public access to financial information regarding campaigns through the use of the Internet, and, considering legislation that would provide public financing as an alternative campaign reform tool.

 

Voting yes on the Motion were Council Members Cleary, DeFazio, Fawcett, Fontana, Frazier, Jabbour, Martoni, Robinson and Fitzgerald.

 

Voting no were Council Members Gastgeb, Price, Rea, Shumaker and Watt.  Council Member Francis was not present for the vote.
