Subject: Re: Bill No. 1441-04 – Motion of Allegheny County Council

Dear Mr. Mascio:

Thank you for forwarding to me the recent motion that was passed by the Allegheny County Council and encourages the General Assembly to pass House Resolution 426, which expressed the concerns of the General Assembly about the proposed closure of two veterans’ hospitals in Western Pennsylvania.  I understand the Council’s concerns about this proposed closure and I will do all that I can to ensure that this resolution is considered.

As the Council is likely aware, House Resolution 426 is currently before House Committee on Health and Human Services.  This resolution is a House Resolution, which will not be considered by the Senate.  I will do what I can to see that the other chamber considers this resolution in a timely fashion, though I will have no opportunity to vote on it myself.

Thank you once again for contacting me to express the will of the Council on this matter.  Please feel free to contact me if you should require any information or assistance.

Sincerely yours,

Senator Jay Costa, Jr.
