This Certificate of Achievement is awarded to Mr. Michael J. Behr of Boy Scout Troop 248 in recognition of having met all necessary requirements to advance to the Eagle Scout ranking within the Boy Scouts of America. Eagle Scout is the highest Boy Scout rank; only five percent of all Boy Scouts earn this rank. This Council commends Mr. Behr’s diligence and skill: two traits he has displayed throughout his scouting career and his dedication to improving the community. For his service project, Michael fabricated and installed deer-proof fencing at the Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens to protect over 80 different species of fragile and endangered plants and young trees from deer overbrowsing. Throughout his participation in the Boy Scouts, Mr. Michael J. Behr has set a high standard of commitment and fervor that the youth of our great county may follow. He serves as an inspiration to this Council and to the citizens of Allegheny County.

For his service project, Lake repaired and extended a fence line along the Panhandle Trail in Oakdale. The project involved a significant amount of planning and obtaining approvals from the Oakdale Borough and Allegheny County.
