An Ordinance of the County of Allegheny, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, authorizing The Jurassic Alcove, Inc. to have exclusive use of a structure known as Exhibit Building #8 on Brownsville Road in the County’s South Park.

Whereas, Dominic Bianco is the principal of The Jurassic Alcove, Inc., a Pennsylvania non-profit corporation dedicated to educating and entertaining the public about paleontological events; and
Whereas, The Jurassic Alcove, Inc. wishes to have exclusive use of a structure known as Exhibit Building #8 located on Brownsville Road near the Fairgrounds in the County’s South Park to operate The Jurassic Alcove: Dinosaur Discovery Center - a unique, interactive, educational and scientifically-based nonprofit dinosaur resource center; and
Whereas, the County believes that permitting The Jurassic Alcove, Inc. to utilize the designated structure in the County’s South Park for the specified purposes will inure to the benefit of the citizens of Allegheny County by educating and entertaining the public about paleontological events; and
Whereas, Article IV, Section 2(k) of the Allegheny County Home Rule Charter vests County Council with the power and duty by ordinance to lease or permit the use of County real property.
The Council of the County of Allegheny hereby enacts as follows:
Section 1. Incorporation of the Preamble.
The provisions set forth in the preamble to this Ordinance are incorporated by reference as set forth in their entirety herein.
Section 2. Authorization to permit the use of County Real Property.
Allegheny County Council hereby approves The Jurassic Alcove, Inc. to have exclusive use of Fairgrounds Building #8 on Brownsville Road in the County’s South Park to operate a unique, interactive, educational, and scientifically-based nonprofit dinosaur resource center known as Jurassic Alcove: Dinosaur Discovery Center for the period set forth in Section B.
